Sundaramoorthy Moves to Indy Pro with Pabst

Oconomowoc, Wisconsin (December 10, 2021) - Today, Pabst Racing announced that 18-year-old Yuven Sundaramoorthy will move up to the Indy Pro 2000 Championship Presented by Cooper Tires for the 2022 season. He will be driving the #18 Pabst Racing entry sponsored by S Team Motorsports.

Sundaramoorthy makes the move to Indy Pro 2000 after a breakthrough year in 2021. In his third season competing in the USF2000 Championship with Pabst Racing, he won four races, scored four poles and earned a total of nine podiums.

After building a solid foundation on track and with his team over the past three years, Sundaramoorthy makes the move with confidence and optimism.

"I’m really excited to take the next step up on the ladder and be closer to IndyCar,” said Sundaramoorthy. “Also happy to be back with Pabst Racing and I feel like we have a really good chance to bring home the championship.”

During the 2022 season, Yuven will continue to balance his education with racing. He is a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, studying computer science where he is also a part of the Formula SAE team.

Sundaramoorthy who was born in Pabst Racing’s hometown of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin recently moved back to begin his college education in 2020. His love for motorsport began in Shanghai where he raced karts before he moved stateside to race F1600.

Team owner Augie Pabst reflected on a positive 2021 season with Sundaramoorthy and his confidence in Yuven as he steps up to the next level.

“Being a part of Yuven’s development over the last few years has been a great journey,” said Pabst. “In 2021, he really put it all together and delivered solid results. We are confident that we will see the same as he makes the move to Indy Pro in 2022.”

The team has just completed the build of a new IP-22 and two USF-22 chassis ahead of their first two-day test at Sebring next week. For more information on the Indy Pro 2000 Championship, click HERE.
